Why not make a permanent dock functional at its furthest and deepest point? This extension will lie over the existing boulders so that a boat or jet ski can be tied up to it.
The extended deck is mounted with a pin/hinge in order to flip back on to the existing dock in winter.
It is also beneficial since water level is too low at summer end to park a boat within the existing dock area.
